Thank you Mom, for Everything

Thank you Mom, for Everything

When i was just a babe with legs not trained to walk you took me in your arms and carried me around.

Then, soon as I was able you set me on my feet so wobbly and weak and taught me how to stand.

The next thing that you did was teach me how to walk as soon as I was able I went off like a shot.

You told me who God was and said to follow Him. I followed in your footsteps the very best I could.

The times I could not see you your footprints were before me I knew that they would lead where I was spos'd to go.

I watched you chase the devil and peepers at the window with a broom raised o'er your head
a Bible in your hand.

Tho' life was hard and sadness came I heard you sing your songs of praise and faith to God right thru the winds and rain.

As soon as I was able I came to walk beside youthen I could see His footprints that had been leading you.

Time did pass and I did learnand arm in arm we've walked.I hope your load's been lighteras I no longer cling.

And now your steps have slowed I'll slip my arm in yours say 'steady as she goes' just to keep you on the path.

When you falter I'll be glad to carry you a while just to say 'I love you' and not to make you weak.

When I think of all the things that you have done for me I'd glady do them all for you in any way I could.

But since you are so far away all I can do is pray And I will do that faithfully each and every day.

I'll send you down an angel to wipe away your tears to change the pain to a refrain and chase away the woes.

I'll send you down an angel to help you through your day to carry for you and do the things you gladly did for me.

For everything I thank you the words the songs the deeds but most of all I thank you, Mom for teaching me to walk.

Face to the wind and climbing mountains!
